Shop sample

apron is done--and very cute! I love this apron pattern . Will be working every day next week to get ready for a huge sale we're having next Saturday, so today is my last day to get some quilting related things done--like starting on the bindings for three large customer quilts!! If I can get them trimmed and the machine part done, I will be happy. Then in found moments I can stitch a bit by hand. So I don't expect to surface again anytime soon!!

Todays happenings

are on my roof!! We are getting a new one. And of course, it just started to sprinkle!! As long as it stays only sprinkling, we'll be fine. My job is to provide food and drinks--good thing, cuz if they got me up there, they'd have to push me off to get me down--I don't do heights very well. But I'm a champ compared to some people we won't mention. (Right, Becca?!?)

Apron

has reached whats-her-face....also known as Melinda, so here's a picture: The blue is actually more turquoise, but you get the idea! Maybe Melinda could post a better photo?

Mama Mia

apron is on its way--no picture until whats-her-face receives it--but it looks very summery!!
On the home front, I had to mow the lawn today--about 1/2 acre, but before you feel too sorry for me, I used the riding mower my sweet DH bought me. When the serving units (also known as sons) moved out, he knew I wouldn't do it other wise and in the 2 weeks he's at work the lawn COULD grow enough to hide all kinds of things!! So I mounted Horatio and away we went!!

More wedding pictures!!

The bride is gorgeous--and my sons are not too shabby!! (DH is kinda cute, too!!)

June finish

I just realized I hadn't posted a finish for June, even tho I had an apron done for a shop sample before traveling up for the wedding--so consequently, I have no picture yet cuz it's at the shop!! It will be a Christmas present for a friend who is the epitome of a outdoors guy.

I'm a Mother-in-Law!!

My eldest got married on the 20th of June in Wasilla at Heaven's Hayfields. The wedding was beautifull. My new daughter in law and her sister did a lot of work to make it lovely--and the guys provided the manpower. My youngest officiated (in Alaska any one can perforn the ceremony) and was best man. They wrote their own vows and when J said his, every auntie in the crowd sniffled and teared!! Mr. and Mrs. Heaven (owners of the place) arranged for them to be driven to the airport from the reception (about 50 miles!!) in this 1959 Rolls Royce. Nice, huh???

Lazy days of summer

are awesome!! I worked my buns off today:
Also bought some very beautiful planters for transplanting some house plants, but ya know, they would have gotten sunburned today, so hammock and iced tea sounded great!

An unwelcome gift

was discovered by DH. Any guesses as to what it is???
It wasn't there when DH set up the sprinklers this morning and one hour later---voila. A couple of days ago a bear ambled down our property line and left a deposit, now he's back. This was 30 feet from my deck--that's a little too close for comfort!!!

Dudley Do-Something

is finished!!! Becca came over Wednesday and we did some more work on our turtles. I finished him last night with only one major glitch--I sewed the right side of his belly (correct) to the wrong side of his shell (incorrect!!) Oh, well--he is done! And very cute--now, what in the world do I do with him!?! He's huge--his shell is 30 inches across!!

Fiesta swap apron

arrived while I was at my sister's. It is awesome!! Kelly made it reversible and the fabric is perfect! She included clips (I'm using for my chips!!), margarita glasses, a cloth and sponge in my favorite hot green color and three fantastic recipes. I definitely scored big time! Thanks, Kelly!!!!
